About this model

I always wanted to make a model rocket using the cardboard tube from a roll of paper towels. The motivation was something like not wanting to waste a perfectly good tube. But it's also a great project to do with kids: simple, fun, low cost, and replaceable. It would be a great project for your own kids, for homeschooling, or for a classroom project if you are a teacher. The problem was that none of the standard size nose cones would fit on the paper towel tube. 3D printing solves this problem! When I started thinking about this, I found there were already some paper towel rocket designs on Thingiverse. They used plastic fin cans, and I wanted to use balsa wood fins instead.
