Measurements are not to scale so please contact me if you see something off and I'll fix it. Porter (also known as H. K. Porter) was a manufacturer of small industrial steam and diesel locomotives. Founded in 1866, they built almost 8,000 locomotives. Despite the large amount of steam locomotives produced, Porter made few diesels thought its career and was out of the locomotive market by 1950. Davenport Locomotive Works purchased many of its assets. Despite the success of the 25-ton range of diesel locomotives in industrial applications, Porter built only nine in the late 1940's, soon before the manufacturer ended locomotive production.
