About this model

The actual size of a printed object is generally smaller than the size indicated in the CAD system because the plastic shrinks as it cools. The amount of shrinkage depends on the type of material printed. In many cases the actual size does not matter because the object does not interface with other real-world objects where size is critical. When the created part has to fit with other items then actual size is more important and you have to account for shrinkage and increase the model size in either the CAD system or the slicer. Printed gears or jar lids are good examples of size-critical items.
