About this model

The ZWO Seestar S50 Pro has an annoying issue of connecting it safely in EQ / Equatorial mode. The scope comes with a ⅜" thread connector directly to a tripod. However, to set it up in EQ mode, it is easy with an Arca Swiss plate that uses a ¼" tripod adapter and then a wedge or fairly hefty/sturdy video head. But the arca swiss plate doesn't connect flush due to plastic protrusions built in to the bottom circular plate surrounding that ⅜" hole... so I needed to design and test a solution that achieves a secure fit. This is 35mm in external diameter, 20mm in internal diameter - to avoid either of the plastic protrusions from the rubber that can have friction. Then it is 3mm thick and has grooves of 0.5mm to create friction on the side of the telescope. The friction in the arca swiss plate …
