I was tired of wrapping the cable around hooks, so designed this weighted system to self retract so you never have to deal with cable management again. How it worksThe charger cable runs down into an open stud bay, around a weighted pulley (the “dancer”), back up over a swivel pulley at the top, and out to the plug.The weight is a 2 L soda bottle about ¾ full of dry sand.Walk the plug to the car: the dancer rises and lets cable out.Walk back: the dancer sinks and takes up the slack for you.The swivel at the top turns to face the car, about 60° one way and 35° the other.It can be used one-handed.SpecsAbout 3 m (10 ft) of cable comes out and goes back in, giving about 4 m (13 ft) of reach past the swivel.D…
