About this model
As I mention in the Infill 3D Bowden geared extruder, I like direct drives I will go as far and say that aesthetically direct drives are ahead; less parts, smaller, less complicated but at the price of reliability. Once more I wanted a compact extruder that has the reliability of a Wade's extruder here is what I came up with. I made this extruder to work with the SunBurn hotend and the Infill 3D i3R however it will work with any hotend that has a 16mm groove mount, I wanted the extruder to be small and give me back some Z axis printing volume; from the bottom of the X-Carriage to the tip of the SunBurn hotend (this measurement will be different with other hotends) there is only 10mm+/- I could have gone lower but I wanted to play it safe.
