About this model
Replacement Powerwheels Jeep Hood latches, closer to the old Willys style, and bolt-on base, instead the snap-in kind which always get lost. No drilling or screws required, uses the existing square hole in the fender. I just used a #8 bolt, or like M6 or so, heated up then threaded in to make the threads. Then assembled with a washer and a spring, pretty simple. The bottom piece goes under the fender, and I ran M3 bolts to hold the 2 pieces together, clamping them to the hole in the fender. I also epoxied my latches for extra strength and gloss, but should not be necessary.
