About this model

This is an adjustable two-part smartphone stand. It can be used for holding smartphone in a predefined position. The angle of the screen can be adjusted by removing upper part from the lower (by shifting along gear axis) and re-attaching into more suitable position. Adjustment range is ca 90 degrees. Both sides snap into place and stay in the position (if printed well enough). The shape of the gears is made using a special gear design program. It is suitable for positioning the phone in two orientations, vertically and horizontally. In order to assure good fit between parts both parts have to be printed close to each other with the same orientation. If FDM is used, supports are needed only in one area. Filament used: Ultimaker PLA Grey. Printer used: Ultimaker 2+ Extended.
