About this model
This design is to make a motion-activated "Harry Potter" style LED wand that lights up with a blue-white LED when the wand is raised vertically and the light goes off when the wand is lowered. The wand relies on a tilt switch and needs about $10 in parts as well as a soldering iron and solder. If you want to skip the whole LED and tilt-switch thing, you can just print it out and use it as a costume wand and I think it looks pretty good. But the whole automatic light-up LED trick is pretty neat and is pretty much guaranteed to put a smile on any child that holds it.
