The Buderim Tramway was a narrow gauge (2' 6" – 762mm) 11.6 kilometre railway that ran from the Queensland Railways mainline station at Palmwoods east trough the undulating countryside to the Buderim Mountain Township. The railway began operating on 1 December 1914 and the last scheduled service was in August 1935. It was instrumental to the growth of the area during this time and carried just about anything that could be loaded onto a railway wagon. Only two steam engines ever worked the line, a Krauss 0-6-2 and a Shay. The railway possessed one passenger coach and one guards van. Little information is available about the rolling stock used on the Buderim Tramway. The few photos available are blurry and don’t show too many details.
