I've found the Baratza Encore to be a reasonable grinder for espresso. It's not as accurate or repeatable as the more expensive grinders, but at a setting of 6-9 it does a decent job and when paired with an affordable Breville machine you can make damn good shots for a fraction of the cost. One nice upgrade I've done is to buy a 53mm dosing cup from the perfectionists at Crema. Awesome quality, and the adapter part here is used to snap the cup into place and grind directly in (as opposed to grinding into the Baratza insert. This allows me to single dose the coffee and I get +/- 0.1g as measured by my Acaia Lunar scale. (You get a few grounds from time to time that fall down, hence the little funnel to brush them off onto a hand towel.) This is a single printed part that just friction fits …
