The actual purpose of this machine is to serve as a test platform to test out different manufacturing techniques such as milling, 5-axis milling, 3D-printing and maybe even laser cutting. The 5-axis milling is only intended for very soft materials such as foam, to mill molds. The construction (aluminium tubing) doesn't allow for harder materials such as wood or steel or similar.
