About this model
This is an adapter for the original Ender 3 (possibly other Creality printers aswell) spool holder arm, that is rotated by 90deg so the filament is pointing to the front of the printer for Direct Drive. It is also tilted backwards by 40deg so that the spool is not sticking out above the extrusion, limiting the space for the extruder stepper motor in max Z. Print it with enough perimeters (I used 5) and higher infill (70%+) as there will be a lot of torsion due to the off center spool. Best printed in PETG. Hardware needed: Extrusion → Adapter: - 2x M5x12 bolt (pan, round head, not countersunk) - bolt head max 8mm diameter - 2x M5 extrusion nut Adapter → Spool holder: - 2x M5x20 bolt (not countersunk, can be longer, there is enough space) - bolt head max 10mm diameter - 2x M5 washer - 2x M5…
