About this model
If you don't use the flashlight in your e46 BMW glovebox, here is a nice USB port adaptor that will plug right into the dash and give you two switched ports! I removed the center of the flashlight receptacle with a screwdriver and removed the pins, which are reused in the new adapter. Print both pieces, then wire two of these buck converters with 18AWG wire. There is not a lot of space, so you need to be delicate. Pin closest the the edge is negative. Solder the lead wires to the pins before inserting from the bottom - be careful not to insert too far. Push the assembled converter into the receptacle, push the female connector housing onto the back, plug in the wire from the car and re-insert into the glovebox. Two 5v/3A ports!
