The sailors provide you with crews for your model sailing ships of the 17th and 16th centuries. My initial motivation here was my 1:120 model of (probably) the most famous cargo fluyt in history (shown in pictures here). Another instance where I used them recently is a little pirate brigantine on some of the other pictures which really started to come alive once she received a proper crew.
