Andrea Navagero, based in Venice, was an Italian humanist and historiographer as well as an ambassador to Madrid and France. His works of erudition were the first published in Padua in 1718. He died in Blois in 1529. This sculpture is the work of artist Luigi Verona, it was erected by Nicolo Erizzo, the procurator of San Marco, in 1799.
