About this model
My daughters love their American Girl and Our Generation dolls, and needed a small doll-sized closet for hanging their clothes and storing their accessories. Instead of spending $60 to $80 or more for a purpose-built wardrobe, we purchased a ClosetMaid 8982 Stackable 2-Door Organizer, readily available from Amazon or the local Home Depot. We placed the adjustable shelves towards the top and bottom of the unit, and inserted an inexpensive rubber-tipped, twist-type, friction-fit curtain rod from which to hang the clothes. We quickly discovered that friction alone was not sufficient to support the rod with the weight of the doll clothes hanging from it.
