About this model
Breathe new life into your old internal optical DVD drive by building it an enclosure and turn it into a USB external drive. You can use an IDE to USB converter like this one: And a power supply like this one: No supports needed. Might be a good idea to print using a 0.8 nozzle to speed up the print. Require six M3x10 countersunk screws to fix the drive and back plate in place. Update: 24-Apr-2020 Added an enclosure_test.stl part that only prints the first 10mm of the enclosure. This allows you to test the fit before printing the whole enclosure. Sometimes it is too tight or too loose and you might need to compensate by scaling slightly or applying a positive or negative Horizontal Expansion setting (Cura).
