So basically, I really like these headphones, and my only real gripe with them is the long cable which is nice at the desk, but annoying to use with a phone in the pocket. Many headphones solve this by having a plug instead, and supplying you with multiple cables (sometimes even with a microphone, so you can call your nanny with them). Since the SR850 (and other similar headphones) have their a fixed cable terminated in an easily detachable cap (held by a single screw, hidden underneath a press-fit "decorative" plaque) this cap can be easily replaced with a bit bigger one, making space for an actual 3.5mm jack.
