I wanted to do a medieval torture version of MouseTrap to give it a more mature spin on it. First, I had to design all of the normal pieces from the ground up in order to have all of the hole and peg locations where they need to be. Because of this, I have every single normal piece as a part of this so that anyone not wanting the mature theme can have access to spare pieces. Second, I picked out the main pieces I thought would be most fun in turning into medieval torture devices. The cage falling was a natural first choice for me. In my version, the mice or rats have already been captured so rather than capture them a second time I chose to give them a nasty ending :) Then came the Iron Maiden.
