As a passionate wooden model ship builder who prefer to build all from the scratch, I decided to design and share some of the most common model ship fittings: starting with the rigging parts- deadeyes and blocks/pulleys. Here is a small compilation of single and double blocks and 3-eye deadeyes. I know that there are a number of similar designs aimed for ship modeling, I checked a few of them and none of them were actually feasible for printing on FDM printers- at the scale needed (1:50 or below) these blocks were unusable- either their overall printed look was far worse than rendering files, or the holes for ropes and threads were too small and unusable etc. So I designed my own which prints very good on any FDM printer with a given parameters and profile and are actually fully usable whi…
