About this model

I designed this 3D printer ten years ago. Back then, the hardware cost around $160. Today, you should be able to get all the necessary parts for under $100. The sample prints shown in the photos are all 5–6 cm tall. So how could this 3D printer made of plastic produce such good prints? The secret was PTFE spray, which allowed the printhead carriage to glide with almost no friction. Just reapply the spray to the aluminum extrusion every few prints, and you’re ready to keep printing.Unfortunately, I don't have any videos of the printing process anymore :/Hardware/ElectronicsRAMPS 1.4 and Arduino MegaA4988 stepper motor driversNEMA 17 stepper motorsLCDMicroSD card readerJ-Head hotend12 V, 130 W power supplyTechnical SpecificationsBuild volume: 170 × 170 × 220 cmPrint speed: 40–100 mm/sXY posi…
