About this model

Half Printed Planter A planter that celebrates 3D printing itself. The pot is designed to look like it has been spiral extruded in big, thick layer lines, with a nozzle caught in mid air still laying down filament. Once it is printed the illusion is complete and it takes people a second to work out what they are looking at. The nozzle and the pot print separately so you can run them in different colours — a grey nozzle against a bright pot sells the effect best. Print the nozzle hole down with a wide brim, which is how the supplied profile is already set up. Once both parts are done the nozzle simply slips over the end of the hovering extrusion.
