About this model

A hand-cranked winder: the spool clamps between threaded cones on a spindle held at both ends, and a geared crank turns it at up to a 2:1 ratio. The spool is carried at both ends, so it holds firmly and runs true. The spindle drops into the slot and meshes with the crank gear. Rotating the crank clockwise keeps the spindle in place.
