I. Hate. Spiders. I live in Australia, home of the huntsman spider. Google "clock spider" for an example of what I'm talking about. The traditional disposal method is to smack it with a thong, but that involves getting within arm's length of the spider. The word "nope" doesn't even begin to cover it. Huntsmen do not crawl. They gallop, and they can leap further than you'd think. Google "huntsman spider running" if you want to give yourself nightmares. Hitting them with bug spray only makes them run faster.
