About this model
A basic sponge filter designed to be as simple as zip-tying some sponge media around the filter and dropping in an air stone. Designed to be used with a cylindrical 2cm air stone like the one pictured, but easily scaled to different diameters as necessary. The outflow tube can likewise be cut as desired, I modeled it fairly tall in order to maximize flow rate. Works just as well as, if not better than manufactured sponge filters I have purchased previously. PETG is preferred for aquarium prints, but plain PLA is also generally considered safe, if less durable.
