About this model

Intro I’ve seen a bunch of suspended string models through the years, and I wanted to try and take a crack at them myself. If you’re not familiar, these types of models take advantage of the extruder on FDM printers to bridge the gap between an object and multiple walls. An object is printed in the center of a frame, and strings of filament are used to connect the two together. When the model is removed from the build plate, the middle object is suspended in between the frame by strings of filament, which collectively work together to make a strong enough connection between the two items. This model in particular was inspired by the anime/manga Naruto, in which a certain family of characters by the name of the Uchiha inherit a special power in their eyes known as the Sharingan.
