About this model
Photographs: Model printed for the exhibition in Leipzig in October 2026, for display running on a commercial standard gauge wagon as cargo. Description In the early 1920s, several German 1000 mm narrow-gauge railways bought open freight wagons in Bremen. According to the literature, they may have been built in Belgium at the end of WWI. Some of them went to the Gera-Meuselwitz-Wuitzer Eisenbahn (GMWE). Our car was no. 314 and, from 1951, no. 99-62-50. At the GMWE, several cars were modified in height. These wagons differ in many small details, such as doors and profiles, so I chose a particularly distinctive one: high sides but small steel doors and a T-shaped profile on the sides. Only later photos of this car are known [2, p. 114; 3], when it ran as 99-53-22 on the Spreewaldbahn in 1958…
