The bamboo is secured using the small rubber bands from loom bracelet kits, which hold the stalk gently while still allowing for growth and easy removal. The rubber-band design also avoids hard-clamping the bamboo, helping prevent damage to new shoots and roots. Tested with: the 12-inch lucky bamboo bundle from PetSmart.
