Zettian Infantry For this redesign, the goal was to give the Zettian Infantry a much stronger visual identity that feels consistent with the Soulborgs of Utgar already established in Heroscape. Because they are a common squad meant to be mass-produced, the design needed to immediately convey the idea of standardized infantry: similar silhouettes, simple and robust mechanical construction, integrated weaponry, and repeatable visual elements from one soldier to another. I also wanted to reinforce their role as guards / defensive troops, especially through the use of shields across the entire squad.
