About this model
Practical base for DIY Steam Frame Lens inserts. Print in PLA, in the provided orientation, with supports and 3 wall loops, so that the PLA hinges don't break. The model provides 3mm of stand-off from the Steam Frame lens rim, so that the lenses you attach can bulge without touching the Frame lenses (that would be bad). If you want less stand-off, you can cut the bottom off in your slicer. Press bits of mounting tape onto the tabs (see picture). Attach lenses however you like. I pulled them out of my old HTC Vive inserts and just glued them on. To mount on the Frame, hold in place, fold the tabs down, and press the mounting tape onto the original lens housing.
