Frequently asked questions
- How do I know if a model fits my 3D printer?
- Compare the model bounding box from the listing or your slicer against your printer build volume. Remember you can rotate the model 90 degrees on the plate, so a 250 by 200 mm part fits a 220 by 256 mm bed after rotation.
- What if the model is too big for my printer?
- Scale it down uniformly to the largest percentage that fits, or split it into sections in your slicer and join the printed parts with glue or alignment pegs. Many large models ship pre-sectioned for small beds.
- Is the usable build area smaller than the advertised bed size?
- Often slightly, yes. Brims, skirts, and purge lines eat a few millimeters at the edges, and some printers exclude corners for calibration. Leave about 5 mm of margin on a tight fit.
