What this project aims to solve: 1) The Lid of the Creality K1 Max 3D Printer sits a bit too low. The extruder filament feed constantly rubs on the glass during prints. Some people report getting a filament feed error due to the tight angle the filament has to enter the extruder due to the lid pushing down on it. 2) The lid needs to be removed for printing with PLA as to ensure the enclosure temperature is not too hot. The rising hot air cannot escape. 3) Keeping my cat out of the printer. It is a lovely box to sleep it. Solution: 1) This 3D printed vented extension raises the lid by 45mm. 2) The side and rear panels are vented to allow heat to escape. 3) Having the lid now permanently in place, my cat can no longer sleep in the printer.
