About this model
I designed this stencil and bracket for the specific purpose of installing a 3rd brake light on my 93 Subaru Sambar, in place of the bed light. The light I used was designed for a Subaru WRX/Crosstrek, but I liked the look of it and the size was pretty much perfect. I had to cut some sheet metal and for that I used the stencil. On the inside, I used the 3d printed bracket screwed from the sides and bottom (top was a little hard to reach) and some black RTF silicone. So far it's been going strong for 2 years without issues. Other than the reverse light being a little dim. For the bracket, drill the appropriate holes while it's flat and before bending the tabs. To bend the tabs, I heated up them up just enough with a hair dryer (since I didn't own a heat gun at the time) to make them pliable…
