This is a printable bracket for installing a 1-DIN head unit that uses a retaining sleeve into a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer (Sportback). If your head unit doesn't have standard DIN mounting holes and comes with a sleeve, this is what you will need to install it well. This all came about because I started to install a new car stereo (1-DIN) unit into my 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback... The new stereo came with a metal sleeve for mounting the unit, which doesn't seem to work very well with the OEM mounting system. The Lancer had a DIN-1 opening in the dash, but no 'cage' to mount the unit into. The manufacturer mounting tabs weren't going to work with the sleeve that came with my head unit (it was a cheap one). I took my calipers to the OEM mounting brackets, and created a partial 1-DIN cage …
