The Extreme Flight 60" Yak 54 Cowl Vanes is a free printable 3D model from Thingiverse by Cosborne. One thing that has always bugged me about the Yak is the way the "inlet vanes" look in the front of the cowl. You can download the STL file from the original listing below and print it at home.
About this model
One thing that has always bugged me about the Yak is the way the "inlet vanes" look in the front of the cowl. No amount of cutting and trimming looked really good to me. So I decided to print one. This part is printed with PETG plastic filament with a total weight of 23g. The material I removed from the fiberglass cowl weighed 13g. So, the net weight gain is 10g, not including glue and paint. To install, all you have to do is cut a hole in the cowl and glue the ring in place. I used hot glue, but epoxy is fine.
