Edit: Wow that gif got SUPER corrupted, that's actually pretty funny This is my first time making and designing a mechanism from scratch in CAD. I had a lot of fun making it and I'm super excited that I actually managed to get it to work too. I was only able to make the mechanism from scratch however, I'm not great at 3D scupting (Yet!), so I used @max7th 's Iron Man Helmet as a base. I included a pic of the first prototype which sorta worked, but it didn't open far enough. I fixed it by making the linkages longer and having them attach closer to the main hinge of the faceplate. But, I don't know how to take out the original hinges out of the faceplate's model... yet.... so just be sure to use the upper-most hinges.
