About this model
My first full scale small arms 3D printable model. This model was designed to be printed on the OrangeStorm Giga, separated into several sections: the barrel / the body / the charging handle / the grip assembly. The barrel and body were printed with a hollow cavity inside, which holds a 25 mm / 1.0 in dowel rod, 1.2 meters / 4 feet in length, for reinforcement along the full length of the barrel and protruding well into the main body (secured in place by generous application of superglue). The separate sections of the model are held in place by a combination of my interlocking clip module and additional superglue. The entire model uses 2.6 kg of filament, and takes 2 days and 20 hours of total print time to complete. The individual sections were printed with a 2 mm thick solid printed shel…
