About this model
I do enjoy making 3D models that actually DO something instead of just looking nice. A weight operated pendulum clock is certainly one of my favorites. This model, one of my newer designs, not only DOES something (it keeps time) but also looks good. Most of the clock is 3D printed, but a few items still need to be purchased (I've not been able to print screws, bearings, nylon cord, or lead shot). Links to examples of each are included in the (very detailed) assembly instructions (PDF document). The clock is 346mm (14in) wide and 1.3m (50in) tall (with the weights and pendulum) and has a run time between windings of about 36 hours. All the parts were printed in PLA.
