No Man’s Land is littered with bodies. Some are casualties, cut down by bullet, bayonet, or blade while fighting, or while trying to crawl away through the mud. Others have become grim trophies: prisoners and enemies seized by the Heresiarch’s forces, hung and crucifixed as mockery and provocation against God and His faithful. Most are not executed outright; instead, they are left on display to suffer, spreading dread among their comrades. And sometimes, the hands that hang the dying also rig them with traps or explosives.
