Inspired by the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1–13, this 3D-printed oil lamp is modeled after the small clay lamps commonly used during the time of Jesus.While studying this parable, I became curious about what these lamps actually looked like. After researching archaeological examples, I decided to create my own 3D-printable replica.These little lamps were essentially the flashlights of their day, using olive oil and a wick to provide light in the darkness.Although the exact type of light used in the parable is debated, with some suggesting larger oil-burning torches, both required oil and preparation.Bringing the Lamp to LifeTo give my printed lamp a more realistic appearance, I placed a battery-operated LED tea light inside the large central opening and added a small piece of…
