About this model
During the development of GM mobile suit, several model of machine guns were designed as a backup to the GM's primary beam weapon with the 90mm GMG-MG79 being one of them. Unfortunately the beam spray gun while powerful has very short practical range, resulting in GM platoons to be outgunned by Zeon adversary until they managed to close the distance. To address this shortcoming and due to its mechanism still functioning in outer space the 90mm MG was chosen as a common platform from which a standard rifle & a support weapon could be further developed. The resulting System Weapon was so modular that a GM could switch its weapon configuration in combat. This is a 23-parts 3D-printable model that can be used to create GM Rifle, GM Long Rifle, & two variants of GM Machine Gun in 90mm caliber. …
