The Ball Drilling Clamp Jig is a free printable 3D model from Thingiverse by Nother_Ngineer. I needed to drill some holes in a ping-pong ball that were precisely opposite one another (for an RC helicopter training gear), so I designed this little jig. You can download the STL file from the original listing below and print it at home.
About this model
I needed to drill some holes in a ping-pong ball that were precisely opposite one another (for an RC helicopter training gear), so I designed this little jig. Print quantity 2. I preferred to use ping-pong balls versus printing my own spheres because the ping-pong balls have a great strength-to-weight ratio. Instructions for use: 1. Clamp them over the ping-pong ball, ideally with the seam at the same point as the seam between the two clamps. 2. Drill one hole. 3. When drilling the second hole, optionally insert a rod or something in the first hole to make sure it stays aligned. Scale as needed, or customize using the attached SCAD file. The other parts for my RC helicopter training gear as here:
