About this model

Torso. A plaster cast from the Royal Cast Collection at SMK, the National Gallery of Denmark, 3D scanned by the museum. Copy in plaster of a torso depicting the god of wine Dionysos, identifiable by his long, curly hair. This version is made after 323 BCE in the more expressive, Hellenistic style than it’s model, the Phidias Dionysos from the Parthenon in the Classical style dating around 438-432 BCE. The original draws its name from the owners, the Italian family Farnese. Size of the cast: 950 x 680 x 720 mm. The scan is in the public domain and free to download from SMK as STL (20 MB for the smallest file). Large sculptures print best scaled down and with supports.
