About this model

I created this adjustable cover for the IKEA MÖRKRÄDD because standard night lights often feel too bright. Even when the brightness seems comfortable at bedtime, it can become too much once your eyes adjust to the dark. I keep the openings fully open while putting the kids to sleep. Once they’re asleep, I rotate the outer ring to reduce the openings and make the room darker.Two concentric rings have matching teardrop openings. Rotating the outer ring changes how much the openings overlap, controlling the amount of light that passes through. The zigzag grip makes adjustment easier. The model is parametric and designed to print in place without supports. The OpenSCAD source and illustrated parameter guide are included, so you can customize the dimensions, openings, clearances and grip.
