Licensing Information

Thinger is a discovery platform that aggregates metadata (titles, descriptions, preview images, and tags) from free 3D printable model repositories. Thinger does not host, store, or redistribute the actual 3D model files (STL, 3MF, OBJ, etc.).

Model licensing

Each 3D model listed on Thinger is created and licensed by its original designer on the source platform. The license terms are set by the creator and may include:

Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike (CC BY-SA 4.0)
Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial (CC BY-NC 4.0)
Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0)
Other open-source or custom licenses as specified by the creator

To view the specific license for any model, click the "Download free STL" button on the model page to visit the original listing on the source platform (Cults3D, MyMiniFactory, Thingiverse, Printables, etc.), where the creator's license terms are displayed.

Preview images

Preview images shown on Thinger are provided by the source platform's CDN and are used for the purpose of identifying and linking to the original model listing. These images remain the property of the original creator and are displayed under fair use for commentary and indexing purposes.

Attribution

Thinger credits every model to its original creator by name and links directly to their profile and listing on the source platform. If you are a creator and would like a model removed from Thinger's index, please contact us.

For creators: Thinger drives traffic to your original listings. We never re-host your files and always link back to you. If you have questions or concerns about how your work appears on Thinger, please reach out via thinger.rocks.
