About this model
A desktop version of a popular sandbox toy. With your fingers at the controls you can seek fossils in your potted plant, dig cigarette butts from full ashtrays, even transfer sake from one sakazuki to another. You'll need a drop of glue on the thin pegs to hold them inside the thicker pegs. Inspired by a design by Sean H Kim ( that looks splendid but just wasn't made for easy printing in PLA. My goal (which I grandly term the "Two Bed Manifesto") is to make articulated childrens' toys that print easily on a single print bed, without support, while I am in bed. The thought is that I press "Go" one time at night and wake with a new source of fun for the kids. You know, so they can dig for cigarettes in the morning.
