The 16mm Average Die (DAv 233445) is a free printable 3D model from Thingiverse by RickKimberley. An increasing number of wargames rules seem to use average dice - something I first stumbled across in my earliest days of wargaming, with WRG 7th Edition Ancients in the early. You can download the STL file from the original listing below and print it at home.
About this model
An increasing number of wargames rules seem to use average dice - something I first stumbled across in my earliest days of wargaming, with WRG 7th Edition Ancients in the early 90s - and they can be hard to find. So here's one for you to print and use. I would probably do it in resin if possible; if you're using FDM, print with supports and cut them out of whichever face is on the buildplate. If you're not familiar with the DAv, it's a 6-sided die numbered 2-3-3-4-4-5 to produce the average results of a single d6 roll, leaving out the high- and low ends as outliers. I love getting feedback and seeing my work in use. Please share your makes!
